Lighting
This test with the dolphin model shows how the omni light interacts with the scene. This will be useful for a more controlled version of the default scene lighting. With some tweaking this can illuminate the parts needed in particular and created the shadows desired. This will however likely be easier to work with on the interior as the outside needs a much stronger light all over. The outside light may work with the omni option with increased intensity. The spotlight tool is likely to be useful for the floor and ceiling lamps of the hangar.

Having experimented with the sun tool, it seems this would work best for exterior scenes. While it is quite complicated set up this likely to have a good effect for realistic of lighting outside scenes where there isnt a direct source such as a light bulb. I intend to experiment with this in my terrain scene.
The below renders show the sun without modification and secondly with shadows on a plane with the settings from the exercise.
Good parts:
- Omni light is flexible source of light without needing to be concerned with directions
- Sun light can imitate realistic conditions of outside light
Improvements:
- Sun requires a lot of set up and tweaking inputs to get the desired angle
